  • Forestry Commission call-out for a writer-in-residence to help promote their work conserving and managing the nations woodlands … have decided to put forward a proposal and apply.
  • Poems sent to the Dunlin Press (port anthology), Poetry Business (running anthology) and Iron Press (tree anthology) … plus National Poetry Competition, Moth Poetry Competition, Orange Blossom Review and Amaryllis. Thirteen poems out in total. Something must stick …
  • The lovely Clarrie at Hypnopomp Literary Magazine has just confirmed that Hawkbit and Jigsaw will be appearing in Issue 7 on 31st January 2019 #WooHoo 🙂
  • No joy with the Forestry Commission or Moth Poetry Competition. Sent three poems to Butcher’s Dog which is reappearing after a year away.
  • Withdrawn the submission to Amaryllis; Little Rowan to appear in Bonnie’s Crew #5 (published online on 9th October, 2019).

  • Withdrawn submission to Orange Blossom Review in order to enter the Wirral Open Poetry Competition … bit of a kerfuffle when one poem failed to upload. All sorted now. Anna Saunders judging the competition.

  • Rejection City here at Northern Towers … several all at once (including competition and anthology hopefuls); going to find somewhere remote and dark where I can sob quietly all by myself.
  • The Yorkshire Times have said yes to Incoming (“such a self-contained and exquisitely executed little piece”) published as Poem of the Week May 27th 🙂

  • News just in that my poem has been shortlisted for the York Children’s Poetry Prize #WooHoo
  • No joy with York, but just sneaked a lonely little baked bean poem in at the end of Saturday Live on Radio 4 today (20th July 2019).
  • Poem submitted for the Kendal Literary Mountain Festival on the theme of Open Mountain … under-represented groups preferred so not hopeful.
  • Schrödinger’s Mouse to feature on the Poetry Village website on November 11th 2019. They do some wonderful artwork that accompanies some of the poetry published. Would be chuffed if this is the case for my stuff …
  • New poem entered in the Verve Poetry Competition 2019. Last minute upload (30 minutes before the deadline) … always the best plan, right?
  • Pamphlet proposal sent to Maytree Poetry Press. You never know …
  • National Poetry Day (Oct 3rd) call-out (fronted by Tony Walsh) for Truth poems on YouTube. Done one 🙂
  • Had the wonderful offer of a pamphlet publication next year. Official announcement to follow at a later date. Soooo happy, I could burst or spontaneously combust … #PoetryHazard
